We expect to offer postdoctoral fellowships to start in the fall of 2014,
potentially for three years. The cosmology group led by Prof. Avishai Dekel
is looking especially for researchers working on the theory of the formation,
evolution and dynamics of galaxies and large-scale structure, including
hydro-gravitational simulations, semi-analytic modeling and analytic work,
in close contact with observations.
Our Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Science is part of the Racah
Institute of Physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Astrophysics faculty include, among others, Jacob
Bekenstein, Yuval Birnboim, Avishai Dekel, Yehuda Hoffman, Tsvi Piran,
Re'em Sari, and Nir Shaviv.
Current postdocs working on galaxy formation are Adi Zolotov, Colin Degraf,
and Shigeki Inoue.
Recent postdocs associated with the group are
Daniel Ceverino, Tobias Goerdt, Marcello Cacciato, and Dylan Tweed.
Overall we have 10 astrophysics postdocs this year, working mainly in cosmology
and galaxy formation, high-energy astrophysics,
planetary systems and gravity.
There are currently
18 astrophysics graduate students at the Racah Institute.
We pursue extensive collaborations with other leading groups in Europe
and in the US, and can consider joint arrangements.
